How might we make it easier for car-buyers to find the right car at the right price?

Overview

Prediction Edge aggregated polling, fundraising, endorsements, news, and market data into a single platform. Despite offering more information than competitors, users struggled to identify actionable opportunities and weren't returning frequently.

Partnering with Product and Engineering, we worked to create Insights, a new feature designed to surface the most impactful developments affecting political prediction markets and help users understand what mattered most.

Problem

Prediction Edge was designed to help users make better trading decisions by aggregating political data in one place. The challenge was that information alone wasn't enough. Users could see polling changes, fundraising numbers, endorsements, and breaking news, but they still struggled to answer a simple question:

"What should I pay attention to right now?"

This resulted in:

  1. Low engagement with existing data
  2. Limited repeat visits
  3. Difficulty identifying trading opportunities
  4. Reduced perceived value of the platform

Solution

Working closely with Product and Engineering, we defined and designed a system that separated meaningful market signals from routine updates.

We created two distinct content types:

  1. Insights
    High-impact events likely to influence market odds.
  2. Updates
    Informational events that provided context but weren't necessarily actionable.

Outcome

The feature launched as a core part of the Prediction Edge platform and became a key differentiator in how users discovered opportunities.
